PROFIT FROM EDUCATION

Welcome to this edition of Create Wealth in Nigeria.

For many years, Africa as a whole have relied on Education as a source of Better Living. You go to school, pass examinations, then you can get a good job and live a better live, even help improve the lives of all around you.

Today the same can not be said of education in Africa, with the very high level of unemployment among the educated young people. If we are to realise the benefits of education, we need to go back to the basics and have a clear the definition of education.

One of my best definitions of education is the one found in Wikipedia.com:

"Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another."

From this definition, you will agree that Africa needs to rethink her definition of education by not accepting the basic "can read, can write then educated" perception. Education goes way beyond this.

For it to be education, it has to transform the mind, character and enhance physical ability. This floors the emphasis on paper qualification which only results in the youth obtaining degrees and several other certificates that they cannot defend at work or use for other personal benefits.

In this technology age, it is very easy to investigate and find out how western education is succeeding, especially in the area of encouraging the youth to engage in enterpreneurship. Become employers not employees and destroy the vain and shortlived satisfaction we derive from working for so called big companies instead of thinking of setting up ours.

Life will be better for Africa, we will be able to utilise our wealth of natural resources ourselves or at least be in the driving seat. Most importantly productivity will improve Africa will be great again.

Create Wealth in Afica -- Next Steps

Hi All!

Apologies for my absense on this blog for a while. I have been working hard on some of my 'Create Wealth in Africa' ideas. Most of them are already fruitful. I will go into details below. This time is straight to the point and I will leave you to Create Wealth in Africa.

Recently there has been plenty of calls to invest in Africa, most prominent is the one from Richard Branson of Virgin Group in Zimbabawe. Most of Africa are virgin and yelling for people to take advantage of. I was in Zimbabawe recently and was amazed at the opportunities there just waiting to be tapped, from Broadband, to quarry, to agricultural products processing. One of the major problems in Zimbabwe of today is the accessibility of the village farmers to good price and market. To make money here, take your buses to the farmers and buy and good prices and preserve and sell in townships or better stil export.

A live cattle in Zimbabwe will set you back $150(by the way that is what Zimbabwe is using now, so you make you money in US dollars.) but the same cattle will cost you $500 in places like Nigeria. How about buying them in Zimbabawe and getting a meat processing and packing company to process and pack for you and then fly to Nigeria and make you money?

This is a just but a few ideas. If you want more, a few companies are setting up call centres in Africa, there are a few in Kenya, you too can do it. It's all about trust.

More to follow soon. Meanwhile keep creating wealth in Africa.

Stay well until next time.

Create Wealth in Africa Chapter One

Hi I am glad you found this blog today. Few weeks ago I set this blog and it is unbelievable the number of emails I have received enquiring about leads to great opportunities in Nigeria (thanks guys, hope my reply helped). One of my aims is to make my blogs short and straight to the point as I understand the value of time to a businessman.Without wasting time, let us look at some opportunities that I find very viable in today's Nigeria. Most, if not all, successful businessmen succeed because they create a niche for themselves. By the time this information is publicly available, there will be little or no money to be made.In Nigeria today, forget oil and stock markets, go and buy land in Lagos (even Ofada), Port Harcourt, Abuja etc. Property is hot all over Nigeria now and they are ever appreciating in price. The most exciting aspect is that you do not need millions to buy. There are many options; you either choose to pay monthly, bi-monthly or in full. This way you have no excuse for not buying.Let us look at some examples; a friend of mine bought a piece of land in Lekki Lagos for N2.8 million ($16,000) last year and by this year the land is being sold for N3.8 million (around 30% profit within 9 months. Another bought a plot in the outskirts of Abuja called Kuje for N500,000 in 2005 and sold this year for N3.5 million ($21,700), work out the percentage profit yourself(Even Madoff won't beat this).Abuja is best but you need to have a good lawyer and a trusted agent (I can link you with some that I have used in the past). Around Kuje (towards Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport), there are plenty of plots there now selling for N350,000, who knows how much they will be worth in 3 years..Most of the New Estate particularly towards Lagos have their website one of the best is Olive Estates, they have many location; Ofada Lekki (many phases). Finally, I have business interests in all these places mentioned above that is why I am confidently recommending them. Next time we will talk about entrepreneurship in Agriculture and some hot opportunities I am working on now.Feel free to email me your questions and I will try as much as possible to help. All for free. Till next time, please Create Wealth in Nigeria and Africa!!

Create Wealth in Africa!!

I have decided to start this blog because of the urgent need to sensitize Africans on the possibilities that lie below our feet. This is in no way trying to insult Africans intelligence but to stimulate Africans both at home and diaspora to give these opportunities good thought. Many ask the questions why westerners/other foreigners still visit even the most dangerous areas of Africa? The answer is simple, every logical thinker make decisions by weighing the risks and benefits behind the decision on the table.

Based on the information you will get from this blog many of you will explode with great ideas, opportunities will appear, many employment opportunities will be created and most importantly many lives will be changed. This is an enormous task so your contribution/constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated.

For now, we will cover the following countries; South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, others will be included as soon as I conclude research on others.

It is important to point out that this blog is not exclusively for Africans but also for people all over the world with interests in Africa. We will offer free advise and broadcast some opportunities that will achieve all above stated goals and even more.

Finally please read between the lines and ensure that you understand before acting on suggestions. I will reply all emails within 24 hours.
